The author


Marcie Revens is a photographer and multi disciplinary artist based in New York City. She is interested in the act of story telling as it involves investigations into history, memory, and time. Marcie explores the relationship between personal possessions, individuals and their communities. She has exhibited her work at Gavin Brown’s Enterprise (New York, NY), Leslie Heller (New York, NY), The Nars foundation (Brooklyn,NY), No Longer Empty (New York, NY), Collective Gallery (Washington, D.C.), Umbrella Arts Collective Gallery (New York, NY), and with Conveyor Arts among other shows. She is a graduate of the International Center of Photography and holds an MFA from The City College of New York. Marcie is the recipient of two grants from LMCC and received a public art grant from the NYC department of parks and the West Harlem Art Fund. Marcie teaches film and digital photography at the City College of New York (CUNY) and has taught at The Cooper Union. She has been an artist in residence at the Wassaic Project, in upstate New York, No Longer Empty, and at Art Garda, Italy.
